Artistic Consultancy & Visual Identity
Tehran, Iran | 2021–2022
Elahe Panahi collaborated with Bāygān: House of Photographs & Words, a cultural institution dedicated to photography, archives, and contemporary visual discourse, as an artistic consultant and visual designer. Her contribution focused on the development of the institution’s visual identity, conceived as a conceptual extension of its archival and research-oriented framework.
Approaching visual identity as a form of cultural mediation, the project explored how graphic systems can articulate complex relationships between image, language, and visual memory. Rather than functioning solely as institutional branding, the visual structure reflects archival logic and taxonomy, positioning the archive as a dynamic cultural and artistic space.
Through a restrained and contemporary visual language, the project examined the role of graphic communication in shaping access to collective narratives, documentation, and visual knowledge. This collaboration reflects Panahi’s ongoing engagement with the intersections of archival practice, visual culture, and contemporary modes of knowledge production and communication.
