Poster Design
A Film by Mohammad Reza Fartousi
Tehran, Iran | November 2021
Elahe Panahi developed the poster design for Mother, I’m Joseph, a feature film directed by Mohammad Reza Fartousi. The work was conceived in response to the film’s narrative framework, translating its distinct emotional atmosphere into a contemporary graphic art composition.
The poster functions as a visual interpretation of the film’s core themes, focusing on absence, displacement, war, and historical memory. Through a restrained visual language, the design explores how complex cinematic narratives can be rearticulated within a single static image, where symbolic elements and composition carry the structural weight of the storytelling.
This project reflects Panahi’s ongoing engagement with the intersection of cinema, visual culture, and graphic design, positioning the poster as a medium for artistic and cultural interpretation.
